MY VIEWS

The most important Doctor’s Day ever

Today is Doctor’s Day — and arguably it’s the most important Doctor’s Day we’ve ever celebrated. I personally want to thank every doctor and every caregiver on the front lines of this global pandemic.

All your years of training and practicing medicine have prepared you for this moment. And it’s incredible to see each of you rise to the call of duty. You are responding to this crisis with extraordinary compassion, expertise, instincts and creativity.

At Providence St. Jospeh Health, we are committed to supporting you today and every day but especially in these extraordinary times. That is we are doing everything in our power to get you the supplies, protective gear and equipment that you need to be safe, so you can safely care for our patients.

The first person with COVID-19 in the U.S. was cared for in a Providence St. Joseph Health hospital. Our doctors and all our caregivers have led the nation through this crisis. Thanks to each of you, I know we will also lead the nation in finding the way out.

You are deeply appreciated today and every day. Thank you for all you do to care for our communities, especially the most vulnerable. Please join us in saying thank you to our doctors and all our caregivers by adding a message of appreciation on social media using the hashtag #ProvidenceHeroes.
