Taking action to support Maui

It has been absolutely gut-wrenching to watch the destruction and growing death toll in Maui in recent days. Our hearts go out to all who are affected, including our many caregivers who have family and personal connections to the island.

To support victims in this time of need, Providence and the St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund are donating to two organizations on the ground. Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund will receive $100,000 and Catholic Charities Hawai’i will receive $50,000 for their Maui Relief Fund. The funds will help these trusted partners provide safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, counseling support and more.

Providence caregivers and others who feel called to help can consider making individual donations to Hawai’i Community Foundation or Catholic Charities Hawai’i. The Queen's Health System, the main nonprofit health system in Hawaii, is also accepting donations.

Our Mission calls us to take action to extend our healing ministry where it’s needed most — whether in the communities we serve or beyond. Thank you for all that you do for those who are most vulnerable.
